An important feature of the community college and university classes I teach is emphasis on the use of concept maps by my students,  for organizing and understanding their readings. Concept maps provide an excellent strategy for learning.  I require my students to download XMind, and then I provide them with this template as a guide.  Even though many of my students express their dislike of the process, they see its value and frequently adapt the model for use with their own students.
